Floor Floor Floor!

Well, Yuri came home from our fun day at the park and fell asleep (yes, Sr!) so I'm hijacking his house blog to show you our house as of this morning!

So downstairs we got a wood floor. We LOVE it! It's gorgeous and will be SOOO much easier to keep clean with little boys running around!

It looks great with the kitchen cabinets! Plus, we have a kitchen sink! Hooray!
The den has carpet as we will use it as a guest bedroom.
The backsplash is finished. Although, I don't like it it's from the same batch we chose in studio so there's not much we can do about it besides complain that the studio sample isn't a true sample of the complete product. It will do... we already planned to upgrade the kitchen in a few years anyway (granite countertops etc...)
Obviously, there's a lot of cleaning to do...

Carpet on the stairs (same as the den). I can't wait for them to finish the stairway!

Master bath mirror! Still no sink but otherwise the bathroom is complete!
A better picture of the master bath.

Carpet in the kids' rooms. I'm not sure why it looks pink in this picture. It's a cream with speckles in it (ya know to hide the dirt from 3 boys and 2 cats and 1 dog)

 Carpet in the game room.
The boys' bathroom is basically finished!
The powder room has a light and a mirror. It just needs the toilet and sink.
So, our house just needs a few more things; some bathroom essentials and appliances are the majors. The staircase needs to be completed and there's lots of painting/ touch ups to do but it will be finished probably before they originally thought. This may work in our favor. Our current close date is June 6th. If we can close before that it may save us money on closing costs! Either before the 5th or later in the month. The 6th is an expensive day to close! LOL

We haven't started packing yet. I don't want to pack until I have the keys in my hands! We are still working on the loan paperwork and getting things sorted out. Buying a house is a lot of work!! The kids love it and so do we. Hopefully these last few weeks will go smoothly. We can't wait for everyone to fly out and help us move! AHAHAHAHA!!! Thankfully, we have Teta Tetiana here to watch the kids (so graciously offered!) so they aren't in the way! It's crazy though. I just packed and unpacked. I'm really not looking forward to doing it AGAIN! At least it will be the last time (or at least the last time in the next 30 years?!) LOL...

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed my update. Not sure how many more there will be since it's beginning to look like a home! We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all!

Just a small update

Not much has happened in the past week or so since last update other then grass being put in, in the front & back yards, and counter top in the kitchen so with out further jabbering on from me...
Master Bath with Tile in shower & on floor... sorry don't have a pic of the floor

Kitchen with Tile Backsplash... And it's of a tile that we DO NOT like, some of the tiles pallet is too yellow and some are white (those ones we like) so tomorrow when they do a construction walk it will be brought up. (We talked with one of the sales people and she came by and saw what we were talking about)

 Island Counter Top

 More Island counter top

 Kids running around.

 Kid's Bathroom Sink
 Kid's Tub

 Front Yard
 Back Yard
More Back Yard

And that's pretty much it for now... Hopefully they will be done in 4-5 weeks. Since we are suppose to close on June 6th =)

Hey so, after I told Dani I was doing this blog post she told me there are more pics on the computer already so here you go.

BFF visit 4/2013

This past week our good friend Katie and her daughter Jayne came to visit. They also brought "Grandma" Sherrie (a mom of a high school friend that is like a mom to Katie and I and a grandma to our kids). They came for 5 days to visit us. It had been just over 6 months since we last saw them and the most time Yurchik and Jayne had ever been apart (considering Katie and I were pregnant at the same time and Jayne just under 4 months younger than JR). They have been BFFs since they were conceived! We planned a lot of fun activities including the NASA Space Center Museum which was a bit over their heads in terms of knowledge but the play area was fantastic. We did the "tram tour" and for anyone that goes it is NOT a tram tour; it's a take a tram somewhere and walk hundreds of stairs to the viewing areas tour.

We also went to the Houston Kids' Museum which was a blast. We had a hard time getting the kids to leave! There was so much to do and see and I think we maybe saw half of the museum!

The twins also had a small birthday party with our new friends here at a local park and splash pad (water play area). This was simple and easy and the kids had a great time.

Finally, we took pictures together. Well, the kids did anyway! We got matching outfits and let them loose in a park. Here's some of the photos we took as well as some from our other adventures!
